How many 7 year old girls ask for a Gnome cake for their birthday? Well this one did, and so after a lot of painstaking icing work, this is what I came up with.

Since this was a job I had to do on site, I had the mom and her friend decorate cupcakes that looked like mushrooms to surround the gnome. Of course, 5 minutes later they were finished, and I still had 2 more hours of work... note to self, have more wine available to parents who want to help as it may slow down their progress!

After cutting off his head (with scissors, as you can see behind it) the birthday girl saved it for later consumption.
