Since this cake was done on the fly, I didn't think to pre-make the figure of him golfing before leaving town, so I had to make it the day before and hope that it would stay together long enough to serve the cake! While he did start to slump a little (even though I dried it overnight on its back, leaving a flat-backed head to be covered by hair the next day) it still worked. Especially after adding the argyle pattern to the sweater vest and facial features with my newly discovered best friends... food coloring markers! Notice that he's on hole 71. Had to put his age somewhere on the cake.

...and the girl took the rest of him! I don't know why, but there is something highly disturbing about children eating a likeness of their grandfather on his birthday.
