Sparrow Tattoo Anniversary Cake
This cake was done for a couple celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary, and are into the Rockabilly scene. So with that in mind, I came up with this for their cake.

I handpainted the sparrows to make them look like tattoos.

I did not realize that this was going to be a cake viewed from all around, so I only planned on decorating the front. Well, during transport, a small section of icing had started to pull away from the cake, so I fixed the area, but because it was near the front of the cake, I didn't like the imperfection, so I put a cherry blossom over it, even though there wasn't a branch for it to adhere to. Then I decided to use up the rest of the cherry blossoms (thank God I made a lot of extras!) by placing them in random areas all over the cake to look like the wind was blowing them off the tree. This is how accidents become happy accidents!
